As part of the DCM meeting, I had the opportunity to visit Srinivas University, Pandeshwar Campus. During my visit, I was pleased to attend the Ph.D. Open Viva-Voce Examination of Ms. Sonia Lobo (21SUPHDS33), conducted at the BOSCH Room, Institute of Management & Commerce, on 22 November 2025 at 10:30 a.m.
The
session began with a warm introduction by Mrs. Shailashree, who cordially
welcomed the external examiner and provided a brief overview of the candidate’s
doctoral journey. A memento was respectfully presented to the examiner as a
gesture of gratitude on behalf of the university.
Ms.
Sonia Lobo then delivered a concise and well-structured presentation of her
thesis titled:
“Share Price Movement of the Indian Pharmaceutical Industry with Reference to S
& P BSE Healthcare Index.”
Her
presentation was followed by an interactive question–answer session, during
which the examiners and attending researchers posed insightful queries. Ms.
Lobo responded with clarity and confidence, demonstrating a strong command over
her research methodology, data interpretation, and findings.
After
deliberation, the external examiner expressed satisfaction with the quality of
the work and the candidate’s performance. The examiner formally declared that Ms.
Sonia Lobo has successfully fulfilled all requirements for the award of the
Doctorate.
The
session concluded on an academically enriching note, reflecting the scholarly
environment upheld by Srinivas University and the Research & Innovation
Council. Witnessing the culmination of a researcher’s long academic pursuit was
truly inspiring and a reminder of the dedication required in higher research.
My best wishes to Dr.-designate Sonia Lobo for her future academic and professional endeavors.
