On 23rd August 2025, I had the unique
opportunity to attend the Srinivas University Research Conclave,
organized by the Research and Innovation Council of our University at Hotel
Srinivas, Mangaluru. This annual gathering brought together research
scholars, guides, deans, and academic leaders, along with the Chancellor, Pro
Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, and research administrators of the University,
with the shared goal of fostering a vibrant research culture.
As a Research Professor at Srinivas University,
it was a moment of pride for me to participate in this academic conclave and
contribute to the discussions shaping the future of research at our
institution.
Highlights of
the Conclave
The programme was inaugurated and presided
over by our Honourable Chancellor, Dr. CA. A. Raghavendra Rao, who inspired
the gathering with his vision for research and innovation. In his address, he
reminded us:
“We want each of you to rise and succeed in life.
Through your research, prove to the world the excellence of Srinivas
University. Let your thoughts be focused on innovation and development—pursue
deeper research and strive for continuous self-improvement. With dedication and
hard work, achieve more, grow more, and make a lasting impact.”
- Honourable Pro Chancellor, Dr. A. Srinivas Rao, in his message, emphasized that research should ultimately serve
the greater good of society. He urged scholars to focus on product-oriented
research that can create real-world solutions and contribute
meaningfully to social progress.
- Honourable Vice Chancellor, Dr. Sathyanarayana Reddy, spoke about the guiding principles of research: “I know, I
don’t know, and I know that I don’t know.” He explained how invention
forms the foundation of innovation and encouraged scholars to embrace
discovery as a continuous journey.
- Academic & Development Registrar, Dr. Adithya Kumar Mayya, highlighted the Chancellor’s dream of seeing Srinivas University
earn global recognition in research and called for collective dedication
to turn this vision into reality.
- Development Registrar, Dr. Ajay Kumar, encouraged researchers to keep experimenting, stressing that
innovation often emerges from unexpected attempts.
- Health Science Research Director, Dr. Suchetha Kumari, spoke on innovation in the sciences, while Dr. Praveen B. M.,
Director of the Research and Innovation Council, presented the annual
research report, sharing statistics on the University’s publications,
patents, and copyrights.
- The session was well coordinated with a welcome by Registrar Dr.
Anil Kumar, a vote of thanks by Dr. Shailashree, Research
Coordinator, and compering by Prof. Rohan.
Personal
Reflections
The conclave was particularly special for me
because I had the chance to meet and interact with my own research scholars.
Engaging with them in person, outside the classroom or lab setting, gave me a
deeper sense of their aspirations, challenges, and determination to make
meaningful contributions through research.
Seeing the enthusiasm of young scholars reminded
me of the transformative power of mentorship and guidance. It reaffirmed
my belief that research is not just about producing publications, but about nurturing
ideas that can make a difference to society.
Conclusion
Attending the Srinivas University Research
Conclave 2025 was both a professional milestone and a personally
fulfilling experience. It was an honor to be part of a forum that not only
showcased the University’s achievements but also set the stage for future
innovation and discovery.
I look forward to continuing this journey with my
students and colleagues, contributing to the growth of our University as a hub
of knowledge creation and impactful research.
