On 6th September, as per the kind invitation of Shri Balakrishna Bhat—brother of Shreemathi—we set out at 9 a.m. to his residence in Maroor, near Goliyangadi. This annual tradition of observing the Ananthana Vritha is one that the family has been conducting with devotion and sincerity for years. It has now become a cherished occasion for us, one we never wish to miss.
The celebration was carried out in the serene and sacred setting of their home, with heartfelt prayers, rituals, and offerings. The altar, beautifully adorned with flowers, lamps, and traditional decorations, created an atmosphere of peace and reverence. Family members actively participated in the rituals, making the occasion truly special.
We were joined by Shri Gopikrishna Bhat (another brother of Shreemathi), his daughter Dr. Radhika, and her husband Dr. Hrishikesh Bhat. Their presence made the gathering warmer and more memorable. The younger generation participated with enthusiasm, adding to the festive spirit.
After the completion of rituals, we shared a delicious traditional lunch—a feast with authentic items that carried the taste of tradition and love. Served in the traditional style, the meal added another layer of joy to the day’s celebration.
Finally, we returned home by car, hearts full of gratitude and minds refreshed by the spiritual atmosphere.
The Ananthana Vritha at Maroor was not just a religious observance but also a reaffirmation of family bonds, tradition, and shared devotion. Each year, it strengthens our sense of belonging and leaves us with cherished memories.
