Devotees Participate in Administrative Board Election – 15 March 2026
On Sunday, 15 March 2026, the sacred premises of Sri Guru Narasimha Temple, Saligrama (Udupi District) witnessed the Administrative Board Election for the 2026–2031 term. Devotees and eligible voters from different parts of the community gathered at the temple to take part in the democratic process connected with the temple’s administration.
The election was conducted peacefully between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, with voters arriving steadily throughout the day. The temple premises had a vibrant atmosphere as devotees combined their visit for darshan with participation in the election process.
Temple Premises on Election Day
The temple courtyard was filled with devotees and voters who had come to exercise their voting rights. Many families and community members gathered, creating a lively and devotional environment around the temple complex.
Voting Arrangements
The voting process was organized in designated areas inside the temple hall. Election officials and volunteers ensured that the process remained orderly and smooth. Voters verified their details and proceeded to cast their votes according to the prescribed procedure.
Election Information Display
Information regarding the election schedule, voting details, and constituency information was displayed prominently so that voters could easily understand the voting arrangements.
Devotees Waiting and Participating
Many devotees patiently waited in designated areas before casting their votes. Conversations among community members and familiar faces meeting each other added a sense of togetherness to the occasion.
Community Lunch (Prasada Bhojana)
After voting, many devotees participated in the prasada bhojana (temple lunch) arranged at the temple dining hall.
Traditional meals were served on banana leaves, reflecting the temple’s long-standing customs and hospitality.
Sharing the meal together created a sense of unity and devotion among the devotees who had gathered for the election.
A Visit with Family
During our visit, we also spent time exploring different parts of the temple premises and offering prayers.
Election Day Experience
The day was not only about voting but also about community participation and devotion. Many visitors used the opportunity to offer prayers, meet fellow community members, and participate in temple traditions.
The peaceful conduct of the election reflected the strong community spirit associated with Sri Guru Narasimha Temple, Saligrama, which continues to serve as both a spiritual and social center for devotees.
After spending time at the temple and participating in the election and lunch, we concluded our visit and departed with a sense of fulfillment.
