On the 29th of November, I had the pleasure of attending the wedding of Chi Akash S Holla and Chi Saw Ankitha Rao at Sanghanikethan, Mangalore. The event was not just a celebration of the union of two souls but also a gathering of family and friends, marking a joyous occasion in our lives.
The groom, Chi Akash, is the son
of my cousin, Mr. Sridhar Holla, is renowned for his association with the
Bharatanjali Dance School, located in Abbakka Nagar Layout, Kottara, Mangalore.
Ms. Prathima Rao, the mother of groom is the Director of Bharatanjali Dance
School, has, alongside Mr. Sridhar, earned significant acclaim in their
profession, a fact that I deeply admire.
My journey to Mangalore began at
9 am in my Tata Nexon EV. Accompanied by my younger sister Hema and her
husband, who reside in Udupi, we reached our destination at 10.30 am. The drive
was pleasant, and the anticipation of the celebration added to the excitement
of the journey.
Upon arrival, I had the
opportunity to meet my maternal uncle, CA Laxminarayan Aithal. He has had an
illustrious career as the Director (Finance) at Kudremukh Iron Ore Company and
now practices in Bangalore post-retirement. His presence added a special touch
to the occasion.
The festivities continued with a
reception on the 30th of November at Adhya Poolside, Adyar Garden, Adyar,
starting at 6.30 pm. The venue was beautifully adorned, with exquisite flower
decorations and effective dance arrangements that added to the celebratory
atmosphere. The food and other arrangements were impeccable, making the evening
truly enjoyable.
I was delighted to have my wife,
Dr. Shreemathi S Mayya, join me for the reception. It was a wonderful
opportunity to reconnect with relatives, including my Mava, Vijaya Chikkamma,
Jaya, Ravi, and others. The gathering was a beautiful blend of tradition, joy,
and familial bonds.
This wedding and reception were
not just a celebration of Akash and Ankitha's love but also a testament to the
strength and warmth of our family ties. It was an event that will be cherished
in our memories for years to come.
