Date: 6th April 2025
Venue: Rajatadri Sabhabhavana, Shree Amruteshwari Temple, Vamanjoor, Mangalore
On 6th April
2025, I had the opportunity to attend the Brahmopadesha (sacred thread
ceremony) of Chi. Vedantha Krishna Mayya, the son of Smt. Ramya and Shree
Krishnaprasad Mayya. The event was held at the serene Rajatadri Sabhabhavana
within the premises of Shree Amruteshwari Temple, Vamanjoor, Mangalore.
To make the road
trip comfortable and engaging, I drove my Nexon EV to the venue, accompanied by
Smt. Vatsala Baje (wife of my cousin brother) and her daughter Akshatha Mayya,
who helped keep the journey lively and prevented me from feeling sleepy during
the drive. It took us nearly two hours to reach the venue.
The ceremony was
beautifully conducted with Vedic chants and rituals, marking young Vedantha's
formal initiation into Vedic learning. It was a spiritually enriching
experience and a culturally significant milestone for the family.
Attending the
event also gave me the pleasure of meeting several relatives and well-wishers.
I was happy to reconnect with Lalithakka, Radha, Baje Radhanna, Veena from
Kasaragod and her husband, Akka, Nishkala, Srikanth, Shreemathi from Vagga, Bageerathi
from Onikunnu, and Ramprasad along with his brother. These moments of reunion
added a personal warmth to the spiritual gathering.
After the event and the customary lunch, we started our return journey and reached Manipal by 3:30 PM. It was a day well spent—spiritually fulfilling and emotionally uplifting
.
