Devotional Delight: My Experience of the Parkala Annual Festivities

Today (07-03-2023) was a wonderful day for me as I got a chance to attend the Parkala Annual Festivities at the Shri Mahalingeshwar Mahaganapathi and Shri Mahishamardhini Temple.  The festivities were in full swing with lots of people flocking to the temple to take part in the celebration.

I started our evening by taking a long walk from my home in Eshwarnagar to the Mahalingeshwar Temple. The road was surrounded by lush green vegetation on both sides, and we enjoyed the fresh air and scenic views.

Once I reached the temple, we were greeted by the vibrant atmosphere of the Rathostava Celebrations. The sounds of drums, trumpets, melody of saxophone and cymbals filled the air, adding to the festive mood. We then attended a Saxophone Concert by Shri Damodara Sherigar and his team, which was an absolute treat for the ears.

As we were heading back home, we met with the brother of my old friend late Dr. Hoskere Shivaswami, and we had a long and engaging conversation about various topics.

During the festivities, we remembered two important personalities  to whom we are indebted a lot- Shri Gururaja Joisa and Shri P Shrinivas Upadhya. They are the main pillars of the grand festivities of Parkala, and they sold the land to us where we currently reside in Eshwarnagar.

Divine Satsang Event: A Spiritual Gathering of Faith and Reflection with Sri Suryapada Swamiji

On March 6, 2023,  I participated in the Devine Satsang event hosted by Sri Suryapada Swamiji (Chayanna). The program was held from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM and featured an assortment of spiritual activities. Notably, the Bhajana Program was rendered by Prof. Aravinda Hebbar, a retired Professor of MGM.

The event was held at the Arjun Yuvaka Mandala Vathara, located on Market Road in Parkala. This spiritual gathering was an opportunity for individuals to connect with their faith and learn from the spiritual teachings of the Satsang. The event aimed to instill a sense of peace and contentment within the attendees and to provide them with the opportunity to reflect on their spiritual journey.

The Satsang was delivered by Sri Suryapada Swamiji (Chayanna), who offered valuable insights and teachings that aimed to inspire and motivate attendees to lead a more meaningful and fulfilling life. Additionally, the presence of Prof. Aravinda Hebbar, who is well-versed in spiritual knowledge and vast experience in Art of Living Activities,  further enriched the program.

Overall, the Devine Satsang was a significant event that provided attendees with a platform to connect with their spirituality and learn from the teachings of revered spiritual leaders. It served as a reminder of the importance of embracing faith and spirituality in our daily lives.

CA Mallesha Kumar is no more

With a heavy heart, I inform you of the untimely demise of CA Mallesh Kumar. Mallesh Kumar, one of my best students, completed his B.Com VOC and CA before taking up an exciting offer in Bangalore. He later returned to Udupi to practice, and he was practising at Narayanaguru Complex, Bannenje. Mallesh Kumar was also a faculty member for B.Com Vocational Course at MGM.

Before his sudden and untimely demise, Mallesh Kumar was serving as the treasurer of the Udupi Branch of the Southern India Regional Council of The Institute Of Chartered Accountants of India. He was a dedicated and passionate professional, who was highly respected in the accounting community.

On February 26th, Mallesh Kumar was playing cricket at the MGM Grounds when he was hospitalized at Adarsha Hospital. Dr. Raja operated on him, but unfortunately, he could not be saved, and we were shocked to learn about his sudden death.

Mallesh Kumar was an outstanding individual, who will be missed by all who knew him. He was a true professional, a kind-hearted person, and a wonderful friend. We pray that the Almighty gives his family the strength to bear his loss.
