A Day of Tradition and Connections: Attending a Bramopadesha Ceremony in Kota

Image
After retiring, I've embraced attending numerous social functions and reconnecting with relatives. Today, April 26, 2024, I traveled to Sadhyojatha Hall, located within the Sadhyojatha Temple grounds in Padukere, Kota, to participate in the Bramopadesha Ceremony of Arivinda's son. Aravind is the son of Mrs. Vagdevi from Goa. My wife, Shreemathi, and I drove our Tata Nexon EV and arrived at the venue at 11 AM. The hall, enveloped by lush trees and a verdant setting, provided a refreshing ambience. At the ceremony, I reconnected with many relatives and friends, including Gopi, Saraswathi, Bala, Shyamala, Athe, Geetha, Gopala, Umesha, Arivinda, Jyothi, Vasanna, Shridevi, and Kotada Athe. It was particularly poignant to witness Kota Mava, over 94, guiding Arivinda’s son through the mantras, with three generations present on stage. On April 24, 2024, I had the pleasure of attending the reception of Preetam, the son of Dr. Sadanand R. Shet, a retired Associate Professor from MGM College, Udupi. Preetam's wedding to Krupa had taken place two days earlier, on April 22, at the Karnataka Patel Bhavan in Bangalore. The reception was hosted at the Sheshashayana Hall within Kediyoor Hotel, Udupi. The event was a wonderful gathering of friends and colleagues, including notable figures such as Prof. Anand Bhat, Mrs. Leelavathi U, Prof. Dayananda Shetty, Prof. Sheshappa Rai, Prof. Kiranmai Rai, Prof. Krishnamurthi, Prof. Jayashri, Prof. Umesh Pai, and Sri Sudhindra, the owner of Bharath Petroleum, Baindur, among others. After enjoying the company and the lunch, I returned to my home in Manipal Eshwar Nagar, reflecting on the joyous occasion.

I feel fortunate to have the ability to travel freely and comfortably. On the evening of the 20th, I embarked on a memorable train journey to Bangalore, where I was set to attend the reception ceremony of my nephew, Vadiraj Bhat, at the Krishna Vadiraja Mandira in Shankarapura, Bangalore. My journey began with the arrival of the Panchaganga Express at 9:55 PM at the Udupi station. I have always found train travel to be enjoyable, but this trip was particularly delightful as I had a confirmed ticket in the Second AC compartment. Here, I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Vasanthi Koradkal and her husband, Dr. S. Koradkal. We engaged in enlightening conversations about various topics related to their impressive work. The train arrived in Bangalore at 7:10 AM the following day. Opting not to disturb any relatives so early, I rented a retiring room at the Bangalore railway station. These rooms, equipped with a bed, locker, and bathroom facilities, provide a convenient respite for travelers. ...
